For sure, we all know famous Haute Couture Fashion Houses such as Dior, Christian Lacroix, Givenchy or Ungaro. But unfortunately, we almost have no idea about all the activities and jobs they generate around them to come to life. Maybe it is just that luxury and exceptional objects need to carry a large part of mystery, elegance, detailed precision to be desired. For instance, we can take an interest in the talent of Mr Legeron, an artificial flower maker who produces for those prestigious clients a staggering number of craft flowers in a huge variety of fabrics such as feathers or silk. Those flowers are either made-to-measure for the world of Haute Couture or specially made for a fortunate number of private individuals.

The House of Legeron was created 132 years ago and the firm is still managed by the same family since then (the Director is the founder’s great-grandson). The process to produce flowers is therefore still deeply rooted in tradition. Actually, the activity consists of 6 different steps: the dressing (to make the fabric rigid), the cutting (using a cutting press to give the shape of the flowers), the dying (petals are colored by hand), the drying (he let the fabric dry for a whole night), the production of the shape (by women hands using special tools such as tweezers, hooks, spheres) and to finish, the assembly. Anyone who will have the good luck to visit his workshop will enjoy an unforgettable experience of colors, know-how, tradition and prestige.
